Animations #4
These all were done at separate times, and I'm aware the first one has a major size issue between the first and last frames. For time reasons, I couldn't go back and fix it before the next week and next checklist of animations and work had to be done. Hopefully I'll have time at the end of the semester to refine and fix these problem areas but the volumes tend to be my biggest problem.
Aforementioned volumes

Animation #3
This scene was exchanged from the original in the story reel, which involved Markus fixing his tooth with floss. From Wendy's suggestion in Preproduction, this scene features him fixing his missing tooth with a gob of toothpaste instead. The paste, while serving as a double-meaning, also reads far better than the floss version, as everything happens in front of the audience to observe.
(This version currently is not touched up with After Effects)

Welcome to Ashley Kilgore's Baby Teeth Animation Production Blog!

Above is the initial film reel with basic timing and boards used to create the guideline of the overall short, created in Art 353A during the 2013 Fall semester. To the right and below are the character turnarounds and poses created for the short's development.
The short follows a baby shark named Markus who, while playing with his toys in the bathroom, loses his first tooth and overreacts to its loss. He attempts to desperately restore the tooth to its proper place in his mouth, but loses the tooth down the sink during his frantic attempts. His despair lasts for a relatively short while when a new tooth suddenly pops up where his old tooth had been! However, there is still one more surprise for the young shark afterwards...
Stay tuned for animated samples and more production work!
